The U14 Program is for 12-13 year old athletes who are looking to develop their entry-level ski racing skills. At this level skills development and free skiing the mountain are key components of the program.
Training and racing is primarily on weekends and holidays from early December until mid-April with extended training opportunities on Thursdays, Fridays, and preseason. The focus is on the FUN-damentals of ski training and racing, skill development, and progressive introduction to competition.
Athletes compete primarily in Kootenay Zone races which minimizes travel time and cost. In March, the racing season culminates with the Provincial U14 Championships and, if eligible, Whistler Cup. Dryland is scheduled in the fall in both Trail and Rossland with some dryland camps throughout the summer.
