This versatile program is for racers continuing in the club’s “Train to Race” stream yet has flexibility to be a stepping stone towards potential FIS racing, Ski Cross (SX) or a profession in the ski industry.
This program allows athletes to continue their racing endeavors, pursue academics, as well as develop their coaching skills. Dovetailing with the U16 program when schedules permit, the U18 Core program has less travel, more at-home training options and competition in the U16 TECK Open series, and local/zone races. FIS cards are not mandatory but must be purchased to race in any FIS sanctioned events.
High standards are imposed to focus on the tasks at hand – whether improving skiing techniques, coaching or avalanche courses. External Credits towards graduation are available for completion of the CSCF EL coaching course and we are working on qualifying other aspects as well.
This program is a great fit for participants who wish to continue on to FIS or share their ski racing experiences and knowledge through coaching/instruction.
