She started her coaching journey with Blackcomb Ski Club working with J3s (now U12s) for a couple of years while attending University and also spent a year coaching Nancy Greene Ski League. After decades off, she is back for her second year of coaching the Nancy Greene Ski League with Red Mountain Racers. She is so excited to shred with a new team of racers this year!

Guillaume Tremblay – NGSL Coach
Hi I’m Guillaume Tremblay. I am from Sherbrooke, Quebec and I live in Rossland now. Growing up I had a real interest in freestyle skiing, that was new at the time with the twin tip skis. I did lots of riding in the terrain park and was part of the slopestyle competition team. Later I coached the same team for three years and got certified Air 2. Now I discovered bigger mountains here as well as powder skiing! My goal is to ski forever and I want to share my passion. I love coaching kids because I can see a real improvement in their skills as well as a growth for the love of skiing throughout the season by challenging them in a safe manner. Cheers!

Lena – NGSL Coach

Alexis spent her teen and young adult years racing and coaching for Red Mountain Racers and Nancy Greene Ski League, acting as head coach under Sean Valentine in the 2004 BC Winter Games in Port Alberni. Alexis has come back to rejoin the RMR team of coaches dedicated to seeing athlete development in ski racing from a young age. Alexis was born in Victoria, but can safely say that she is from Rossland, having graduated at RSS in 2002, and has now returned to teach in the area. Alexis’s interests include and are not limited to: yoga, acro yoga, hula hooping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, silversmithing, painting and so much more.
Jayme Smithers – NGSL Coach
I am Jayme Smithers (He/Him) and I am thrilled to be Team Croatia ski coach for 23 ski season!  I have been involved in skiing and ski racing since the age of 2 and 5 respectively, racing primarily here in the beautiful province of BC for many outstanding clubs.  As my skiing competence, confidence grew, I was able to pursue the sport at a high level racing on the North American (NorAm) circuit, ending my career with a ski scholarship with the University of Denver Pioneers.  Racing for Pioneers was an absolute highlight of my career for not only did I gain a great degree, I met Tove and we won two NCAA National titles as a team!  Racing as a team gave me the most joy for it reminded me so much of the Nancy Greene program – supporting, caring and connecting with others.  Now a parent of two boys, (Henning and Maro) I am excited to give back and share my love, energy, passion, knowledge and expertise to the next generation of athletes.  On snow, you can spot me with my Flylow ski gear, maybe hear me sharing a dad joke and most importantly bringing boundless energy / excitement about skiing to our athletes!
Tara Hauck – NGSL Coach
As a level 1 coach, Tara works with the NGRL. After retiring from a 30-year career that actively facilitated wellness solutions for people of all ages in the warm Caribbean, she moved to the mountainous hilltop of Rossland, British Columbia. Her well-rounded resume of Alberta Alpine Coach (Nakiska), PADI Divemaster, Registered Nutritionist (SAIT), NASM Master Trainer, Master’s Degree in Education, and a spectrum of gym-related certificates made her a good choice for the RMR affiliate Seven Summits Centre for Learning workshop facilitator. Requested to coach in 2020, Tara was excited to work with the NGRL, create strong friendships, improve skills, and support a constructive culture for skier retention. Tara believes you can do better when
you know better, and everyone benefits from working together.
Ericka Stephens-Rennie – NGSL Coach
Ericka (she/her) has been skiing at Red since she was a toddler, and some of her best ski memories are of skiing mini bowls with her own Nancy Greene team when she was a kid. While living in Vancouver for 10 years, Ericka taught both of her kiddos (9 and 6) how to ski and have fun in all conditions (Rain? Let’s go skiing!). She moved back to Rossland in 2020, and spends as much time as she can skiing (and mountain biking, hiking, etc). She took her Level 1 coaching certification in 2021, and coached her first year with the NGSL program in 2022. She loves to coach our youngest racers, and mini bowls is still one of her favourite runs.

Colin Curtis – NGSL Coach

As a kid, I was lucky enough to spend most winter weekends at a small hill called Devil’s Glen near Collingwood, Ontario. I ski raced in various leagues, competed in some local FIS races and chased powder in the woods. Skipping ahead, I was an instructor with Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports and started a small adaptive ski program at a hill in Northern Manitoba with my wife Dixie. Shortly after moving to Rossland in 2011, friends recruited us to coach Jack Rabbits at Black Jack Ski Club. This year, I decided to switch gears and join the Nancy Greene Ski League at Red. I’m pumped to share my passion for downhill skiing with my U8 team!
Michael Graham
I started skiing at age 3 when my parents strapped cross country skis on my feet. I started downhill skiing in grade 4 because of the school program and never looked back.
I ski raced up to age 15 and I was a level 2 ski instructor for a couple years after high school. I spent the last two seasons coaching in the Nancy Greene program at Phoenix.
I’m really excited to share my passion with the Red Mountain Racers!

Geoff Coke – NGSL Coach

My name is Geoff and I have been skiing since I was 3.  I spent my adolescence in the Todd MT Nancy Greene program and now have 2 kids in RMR, my eldest in U12 and my youngest in Nancy Greene.  This will be my second year coaching and am stoked to ski with your kids at this fantastic mountain.

Alynn Smith- NGSL Coach

Lee Baker – NGSL Coach
Lee is a CSCF level 1 coach with 4 years of experience coaching Nancy Greene in Alberta and BC.  This is his second year with Red Mountain Racers since moving to Rossland to live the Kootenay dream of skiing and mountain biking.  Lee grew up snowboarding in Nova Scotia before switching to two planks to ski with his daughters. Lee’s weekday job as a sixth grade teacher gives him lots of experience working with and motivating young athletes. My coaching philosophy is that it’s about the journey and not the destination. I look forward to seeing the athletes develop their skills over the course of the season as part of a team.
