Phil Patterson – Head Coach and FIS Coach
Philip Patterson has over 28 years of coaching experience: Red Mountain Racers for the majority of that time; two years in Whistler; one season as Whitewater head coach and one year instructing in Verbier Switzerland. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Phil competed for the Ontario Alpine Ski Team. He proceeded to pursue coaching education, attaining Performance Level certification (Level 3).  Phil has also led ski programs from U6 through to Nor-am FIS for many years. With tremendous experience at all levels, Phil has ample familiarity with various stages of athletic development. Through BC Alpine Phil has worked at BC Ski Team training camps both on-snow and dryland, as well as working with Team Canada at the U16 Whistler Cup.
Mike Osatiuk – U16/U18/FIS Coach
Mike Osatiuk has been sharing his passion for the sport of alpine ski racing with youth for over 25 years. Mike is a CSCF Level 3 Coach who has been working with the Red Mountain Racers for more than 15 years.  As a former FIS racer himself, Mike is able to bring both coaching and racing experience to the table as he works with our athletes.  When Mike isn’t coaching or watching World Cup racing you can find him enjoying some down time with a fishing rod in hand. Whether it is fly fishing on the Salmo River or ocean fishing near Port Renfrew, Mike definitely enjoys his annual fishing trips.
Katie Spittlehouse – U16 Coach
(CSCF Level 3/Performance Level Trained). Currently my 9th season coaching, 4th season coaching with Red Mountain Racers. I grew up and raced in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where I also began coaching for 5 years. I raced on the Lake Superior Ski Division FIS team for 3 seasons, followed by 1 season with the Confederation College Alpine Ski team. I graduated college as a Medical Radiation Technologist, and now work at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital as an X-Ray technologist, whenever I’m not at Red Mountain coaching or skiing! I live in Rossland year round with my dog, and am a competitive Enduro Mountain Bike racer in the summer. I have competed in the BC Enduro series, Canadian National Enduro Series, Trans BC Enduro, Trans Provence Enduro as well as stops in the Enduro World Series. I have a passion for sport and the outdoors and love being able to continue my athletic career as well as coach young aspiring athletes!
Jonah Randell – U14 Coach
Born and raised out of Whistler BC, skiing has always been a huge part of Jonah’s life. Starting later as a ski racer than most, Jonah raced Nancy Greene-FIS out of Salmo and Whitewater. At the age of 5 he started racing motocross throughout BC and has competed in the Canadian Championships 6 times as well as winning multiple BC championship series. Jonah is very dedicated as a race coach and is always keen to provide maximum attention to long term athlete development and sharing his passion for skiing and ski racing. Jonah is a Level 2 CSCF Development Coach and has over 6 years of coaching under his belt. He is a avid motocross racer, mountain biker, road biker, skateboarder, and carpenter.

Richard Gash – NGSL Coach
Richard first joined the Red Mountain Racers as a Red Mountain Academy athlete from England.  After attending the Academy he decided to make Rossland his full time home.  Richard continues to race at the FIS level competing most recently in Europe in July of 2018.  In addition to coaching NGSL athletes, Richard has also applied his passion for the sport to coaching our Masters program
Junior Hamm – NGSL Coach
A Level 1 coach, Junior has been coaching Nancy Greene for 4 years.  He really enjoys seeing the development of his athletes from the beginning of the season to the end of the season and comes up with many innovative ways to encourage proper racing stance for his athletes.
Bob Séguin – NGSL Coach
From racing with the Nancy Green program at an early age to the Canadian national circuit and Europe circuit and then World university circuit. My passion lead me to become a pro racer in the United State and to work for Salomon on the international level. That same love for skiing brought me to Rossland and today to coach the Nancy Green program where I can share my passion with the next generation.
Jacob Lunn – NGSL Coach

As a CSCF Level 1 coach, I grew up in Castlegar and enjoyed racing up to U-18 and coaching since 2013. I have lots of first hand knowledge about being an athlete through being a ski racer and playing high-level soccer. Racing with the club was a great experience for me both in developing as a skier and having lots of fun, so I hope to provide that same experience to young racers! Besides skiing, I am passionate about the outdoors, soccer, mountain biking and travelling.
Alexis Pearce – NGSL Coach
CSIA level 1, CSCF level 2 development coach. Alexis spent her teen and young adult years racing and coaching for Red Mountain Racers and Nancy Greene Ski League, acting as head coach under Sean Valentine in the 2004 BC Winter Games in Port Alberni. Alexis has come back to rejoin the RMR team of coaches dedicated to seeing athlete development in ski racing from a young age. Alexis was born in Victoria, but can safely say that she is from Rossland, having graduated at RSS in 2002, and has now returned to teach in the area. Alexis’s interests include and are not limited to: yoga, acro yoga, hula hooping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, silversmithing, painting and so much more.
Yasmin Evans – NGSL Coach
Originally a RMR Racer up until U14, This is Yasmin’s first year teaching Nancy Greene ski racers. Raised in Rossland, she has grown up skiing and enjoys sharing her passion with future athletes. Her ambition is to become an Level 3 instructor, and to take her passion international.
